THE 2025 CLASSES ARE
JANUARY 25th & JULY 19th!
Over the past 15 years in business,
I've been asked
a LOT of camera questions...
It always seemed that the questions were being asked while at a ball game or an event where the pictures they wanted to take were important but they weren't getting the results they wanted.. they couldn't understand why "AUTO" wasn't working 'automatically'.
And that's EXACTLY where I started!!
I wanted to take pictures of my kids playing sports, at school events, on Christmas morning, etc.. but it just wasn't working! The final straw was when I tried to take pictures at my sons' basketball games... I was so frustrated by the time I left that I started searching books and the internet for anything I could find about how to work my new camera!
I was on a mission!
Little did I know that I was re-igniting a fire that actually started when I was a little girl with my very first pink 110 film camera!
(I've always thought it was so neat that I could click a button and stop time! I call it my superpower! Corny, I know.. but it's true!)
Cameras and the photography industry as a whole have changed A LOT since my little pink camera days, but the things that haven't changed are the basics of photography.
I want to help you learn the basics and buttons without all the hours of research and frustration!

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
I've taught several classes over the years and I'm happy to say that my students left with a better understanding of these things and more:
What are all those buttons for & when do I use them?
Why won't it do what I want it to do?
Why aren't my photos in focus?
Why don't my pictures look how I want them to?
When and how do I use different lenses?
When should I use my flash?
When should I use the M,A,S, and P and all those other settings?
What program(s) should I use to edit?
How and where should I print my pictures?
What type of equipment do I need?

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
A way to take notes!
You can bring any camera and learn the basics in the Beginner's Class, but those who own a camera body with manual settings and at least one lens will get the most from the classes.
(This is generally a DSLR or mirrorless camera, but some smaller cameras are also acceptable... an easy way to tell if your camera is suitable is to look for a dial with the letter M on it.)In the Intermediate Class, my screen will be projected onto a 64" television. You can bring your own laptop to follow along if you wish, but it is not required.
The Mentorships are tailored to what YOU need, so we’ll have a pre-class consultation to discuss travel plans, what to bring, what you want to learn, your equipment and much more!
WHAT WILL WE DO?
In the Beginner's Class, we'll start out by going through the workbook, learning what your camera buttons are and what they do... then the class will use each other as models so everyone can can practice what they've learned!
In the Intermediate Class, we will focus on the next step in digital photography... editing! While there is no workbook, the lessons are very easy to understand because they are more hands-on and practical.
In the Mentoring Classes, we'll focus on whatever you want to learn!
WHERE ARE THE CLASSES HELD?
All classes and mentorships are held at the KNP Studio.
It's very easy to find because she's the oldest commercial building located in heart of Hazel Green! She's the adorable 90 year old, 2-story on the corner of West Limestone Road and Highway 231/431 North that my hubby and I renovated into an absolutely perfect photography studio!
RESERVE YOUR SEAT!
BEGINNER’S CLASS - 10am - Noon If you have a camera that you're not exactly sure how to use or if you just want to learn more about photography basics... you need this class!
INTERMEDIATE CLASS - 1 - 3 pm This class is less 'by the book' and more about what YOU need to learn! Each attendee is on a different level, so the best way to teach this class is to be an open book! Because this is an intermediate class, you'll need to know the basics of using your camera like shutter speed, aperture and ISO.
Purchase both classes and save! (Must attend both classes on same day.)
